What’s does 160/182 in a 1.6l ecoboost ps-sigma engine mean

Does this mean the car is producing 160 bhp and 182 on overboost?

Ford quotes the power figure as 182 hp for the regular ST, with 200 hp available on overboost (for up to 15 seconds), and 200 hp with 215 hp on overboost (for up to 20 seconds) for the ST200. I’m not sure where the 160 figure comes from; it might be a confusing reference to the engine size (1.6L), but it doesn’t align with the torque values either. The torque for the ST180 is 240 Nm, with 290 Nm on overboost, while the ST200 has 290 Nm with 320 Nm on overboost.

It could be a typo; the 2013 and earlier Mk6 models had 150 hp (ST150).

My guess is that it’s 160 hp on regular gas and 182 hp on premium.

You’re probably right. The 1.6L engine in the regular ST is rated at 180 bhp, with 200 bhp on overboost. The 160 hp figure doesn’t seem to match that.

It sounds like the 160 hp figure might be referring to a regular 1.6L EcoBoost engine in a different Ford model, like the Focus, Fusion/Mondeo, or maybe the Escape. If I remember correctly, even the regular versions used the “overboost” feature, but at a lower power level.

For example, the UK Mondeo is listed as 160 hp, while the equivalent US Fusion shows 182 hp. These are essentially the same engine, but the difference in power listings is due to UK regulations on horsepower claims.

However, without more context from the original poster, it’s hard to be certain.
