Starting a family and trying to figure out what to do with our Fiesta, thats completely paid off, but need more space. I have been reading that around this 100K miles the fiesta starts running into issues with the transmission, does anyone have any experience with this issue? I don’t want to get rid of it, but if its gonna start falling apart, I can get 2,000 from the dealer if I trade it in.
You could sell it for double or even triple that amount.
$2000? Damn so low i swear…
If having more space for kids and pets is your top priority, then sell it. But if you can’t part with your Fiesta and don’t need the money, then keep it. Also, I wouldn’t assume the transmission issue will only arise once you hit the 100k mark. As long as you maintain your car properly, you shouldn’t have to worry about it.
My 2015 SE has 120k miles, and yeah, things are starting to go. I had to replace the catalytic converter, get some transmission work done (luckily part of it was covered under an extended warranty), and just recently replaced the shocks and struts because they were leaking. I might also need to replace the valve cover gasket since my plugs are wet. So…it’s the devil I know, but it might be time to move on.
An auto is a money pit. Sell it privately and get 2-3x what dealer is offering
