Non-smelly high-flow catted downpipes?

Has anyone had success with high-flow catted downpipes that don’t produce a strong, noxious exhaust smell? I’d love recommendations for a better-performing alternative.

I currently have the Whoosh-brand high flow catted downpipe installed, and although i love the way it makes my exhaust sound, my exhaust is very smelly. It smells as if I have no cat installed at all - even after a long drive. Seems like the cat is not doing its job. I understand that less restriction in the exhaust means less heat for the cat to properly function, but what’s the point of having a catalytic converter if it doesn’t function? Besides being a poison to people and the environment, the noxious smell is quite obnoxious to myself and others.

EDIT: I am running an X47 turbo.

I’m not sure if Mountune (UK) parts will fit USDM models, but they’d be my first choice to check out, aside from Whoosh.

I also have a sport cat, and my car smells a lot, especially in winter. I don’t think there’s much difference between brands. Maybe try going back to a stock cat, or even weld something like a dual cat setup?

There’s an owner selling their used CP-e sports cat in the for sale section on fiestastforum(dot)com if you want to give that a try. I’m not sure about the smell, though.

It smells better on ethanol :corn::corn:! That’s a good tip.

For what it’s worth, I have the Whoosh downpipe, and the smell drastically decreases for me once the cat warms up.
