So, I have a 2006 Mk5 Fiesta with the 1.6L engine. I’m curious as to what people think the mpg for it would be? I’m asking because my car is only getting around 30mpg atm and that just seems low for such a small engine. Is this what this engine should be getting or is there something like wrong with it that is causing it to be so low?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
edit: I should clarify, I’m using UK measurements.
I have a 2012 UK-spec 1.25 petrol, and I get 42 mpg.
Tire condition significantly affects mpg, so be sure to check their pressure and wear. I had my spare tire on for two weeks, and my mpg dropped to 35 or 36.
I average 45.7 mpg, mostly driving on A roads at 60 mph with the cruise control on, plus a bit of city driving. If it were mainly on the motorway, I think 50 mpg would be achievable. Once or twice a week, I push it to redline through a couple of gears, and I fill it with V-Power once a month.
2012 MK7 1.4 diesel here. My average is 4.5L/100km which equates to roughly 63mpg UK. That is mostly motorway driving at 55mph, some country roads traffic for about 10 minutes a day and some driving in the city. Sometimes the thing will get pushed to 100mph sometimes it does get redlined, but mostly driving economically.
