I see a lot of posts that have MK7 or MK8. Are these different trim packages for UK and EU cars? I looked and couldn’t find anything that called out and MK7 or MK8 package. Sorry if this is a simple or ignorant question.
The 2017 model is likely equivalent to the US Mk. 7.5, featuring a facelifted front, and it could come in either 3 or 5 doors, I assume. Does it have Sync 3? Regardless, all advice for the Mk. 7 or 7.5 should still apply.
What does “Mk” stand for? Is it a 4-door sedan? The phone button currently doesn’t do anything, so I have no idea what version of Sync it has. The screen shown in the manual looks nothing like mine.
Not referring to trim packages but to model generations. In Europe, a new generation was introduced in mid-2017, with a facelift in 2020. These would be Mk8/8.5 in the UK and Mk7/7.5 in the rest of Europe (I’ve never understood why there’s this discrepancy; I guess in the UK, a facelift of a given model was considered an entirely new generation).
Regarding your car, as you’ve already been informed, it would indeed be equivalent to a Mk7.5 in the UK.
Gotcha. MK means Mark.
do proper research my friend…
