I have a 2017 Ford Fiesta hatchback automatic. I have had it since 500 miles and am now at 88,000. I get the oil changed every 5-7k miles. I get my tires rotated and have had two wheel alignments. I only just recently changed the original battery. I’ve had to replace the horn, 2 rear struts, lug nuts, break pads once, air filters, blend door actuator twice, washer motor pump, driver bottom seat trim broke and had to have that replaced… Lots of small things. I am wondering if I should start saving for a new car or should expect that issues are going to get worse as I reach the higher miles. Obviously, new cars are expensive, I love my car(mint green and ive been to 49 states safetly with it!) but its not worth much to trade in and would be a big expense for me to look into another car. So as I reach the higher miles, what kind of issues and expenses can I expect?
I have a 2016 SE with 130,000 miles on it. It’s still running, but it feels more like an older car with 200,000 miles than a newer one.
Edit: I’ve had to replace the axles, engine mounts, AC compressor, and throttle body after hitting 100,000 miles.
I have a '14 SE Hatchback with a 5-speed transmission and just hit 75,000 miles. I’ve only done basic maintenance on it. Aside from being T-boned by a 90-year-old who ran a red light a few years ago, everything is still original.
I have a 2017 model that I drive daily, and it has 130,000 miles on it. It needs an oil change next week, but overall it’s been a great car with no issues and excellent gas mileage.
I bought a used 2014 model with 80,000 km, and it just passed 300,000 km the other day.
I have a 2013 Fiesta hatchback with around 138,000 miles on it. I’ve only had to replace the TCM under warranty, and it’s still going strong! I get about 39.4 MPG, mostly driving in the city here in Denver, and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever—knock on wood!
I have a 2011 SE with 200,000 miles on it and I get about 39.6 MPG. I’m planning to run it until it quits! I had to replace the TCM at 115,000 miles, but other than that, it’s only needed minor repairs. It’s been a jewel of a car, and I’m really going to miss her when she finally gives out!
