Got my first ford fiesta Mk5 from 2005, any things to watch out for?

Any things i should replace or get looked at? Its quite clean, but i noticed a few things so far tgat bother me.

The plastic bump guards on the doors, the front and rear mudguards and the handles all need replacing as they are disintegrating. The small ring part holding the cigarette lighter just crumbled on me today, and the antenna doesnt wrap around tge roof fully, leaving space for water to enter.

Any things i need to get checked? Its my first car, i love this model, and i want it to last and be as pristine as possible. Thanks in advance friends :slight_smile:

Mine has the 1.3 liter gas engine, making 67-69 hp

Be sure to cover your strut towers from above with a rubber grommet or something similar. Ford overlooked this, and they tend to collect water, which can lead to rusting.

I’m pretty sure a close friend of mine drives the same car and has had it for a long time. It’s well maintained and, as a result, in excellent condition. That car is practically indestructible if you take good care of it.

I intend to. Its a beautiful car, and in kinda mint condition. I’d prefer it it stay that way :slight_smile:
