Should I change the belt now or just do an oil change?
So I bought a 2018 st line fiesta about a year ago. I’ve put on 7k miles it’s now at 60k. After reading and seeing online about the ecoboom engines I’m not sure if I should just get it serviced or change the timing belt. It’s been with 1 owner since brand new and he runs a dealership. It has been serviced every year and each year it puts on around 10k miles. I’ve had zero problems with the car even taking it across country from London to Newcastle. Now I’m not sure whether to just get it serviced or change the belt completely after watching all these videos online about the wetbelt.
Is it actually a 1.0L Ecoboom engine, or something different? If it’s the Ecoboom, you should have replaced the cambelt yesterday! If it’s a different engine with a standard dry cambelt, just follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. I replaced the cambelt on my 1.25L Fiesta at around 68,000 miles.
