The same pads and rotors were on the car for seven years/70k miles, so it was time. The issues along the way included all four rotors and all of the sliding pins on the rear caliper support brackets were seized, and the Mountune brake hoses I had on the car for around the same timeframe weren’t in the best condition. One actually completely snapped during the process, but Whoosh kindly overnighted a new set. I flushed and bled the brake lines, bled the lines a second time, and all of the air is seemingly out of the system. It’s been a minute since I have done a brake job, and I always had the assistance of someone more knowledgeable. This is the first time I did all this solo, so I wanted to make sure I am not missing anything. I couldn’t find a definitive answer as to whether or not the ABS system on the FiST requires a little more attention, or if there is anything else I need to check. Thank you in advance if you have any input!
We’ve got a U of M fan!! GO BLUE!!
You should be good! ABS systems usually don’t need maintenance unless something’s wrong with them. As long as you’ve got all the air out of the system, you’re set .
Looks good!
Are those the Mountune springs?
To be honest, I haven’t noticed much of a difference. I ordered them a long time ago with all the other stuff I did to the car, but I didn’t put them on until after I moved to Florida. The roads here aren’t that much fun lol
Bring it to my garage!
