Hi! My 2012 Ford Fiesta was hit by a driver looking the opposite direction from where he was driving… T boned pretty sure it’s gonna be totaled. I really like my car. It is a black 2012 Ford Fiesta S with the 5spd manual transmission. As I look into new cars(used) to buy I’d like to know if there are other options that fit my needs if I can’t find another fiesta.
Manual transmission MPG as good or maybe a little less than the fiesta Prefer small cars around the same size but open to bigger options Has to be a 4 door Reliability. My fiesta hasn’t needed a single repair since new at its now at 100k Miles. Only thing I’ve done is a timing belt and oil changes tires.
The Mazda2 shares the same platform as your Fiesta, but it has less power. However, it handles brilliantly and is extremely reliable.
It feels odd to say this since it’s not the most reliable car, but the Chevy Sonic also has great handling. Just be prepared to replace the cheap plastic GM parts with aluminum aftermarket ones when they break; it will need repairs, but using quality parts can keep it from needing them again.
The Focus works well with a manual transmission, although it’s not as agile as the Fiesta.
For the Honda Fit, the second generation (2009-2013) is considered the sweet spot for agility. I owned a first-gen model, and it felt great to drive. I’ve heard the second generation improved even further, but while the third generation (2015 onward) got bigger and nicer, it sacrificed some handling in the process.
Just to clarify, it has to be a four-door and a subcompact? Do you really have people sit in the back of your subcompact? I can’t imagine making my kids sit back there
