2009 ford fiesta ghia 1.25 82hp - long road trip

Hi guys, Recently bought a 2009 ford fiesta 1.25 with 160000 km, it got a new belt, tyres, fluids and checks. planning to make a trip to France which is circa 1200kms, stay there for a week and then back. How does this car deal with long roadtrips? Any recommendations with breaks, checks or whatever?

Thanks

If the car is checked and in good condition, it should easily handle a 1,200 km trip without any issues. Just keep an eye on the temperature and check your oil levels, and you’ll be fine. The 1.25 engine, developed with Yamaha, is known for being reliable.

Be mindful of speed cameras in France—they’re everywhere and often placed in sneaky spots, like on steep downhill roads where the speed limit suddenly drops.

Also, I’ve heard some toll roads no longer have gates, so you might have to pay another way, possibly online. Make sure to look into that to avoid surprise bills or fines later.

And definitely try to avoid the ring road around Paris—it’s packed with traffic jams and the drivers can be very rude.

Make sure the cooling system is in tip top shape.

I see, thanks for the great info! Luckily my route will take my just east of Paris. Will watch out for the speed cameras😄

If you can avoid Lyon (probably not) try to do that as well, a nightmare to drive and stupid speed signage on the Péripherie with lots of camera’s

also avoid N-roads as there are lots of roundabouts and again speed cameras everywhere

Thank you, my route goes straight through Lyon… ill try to plan around it . Thanks!
