Hey guys, I recently put BG synchro shift 2 in my trans after doing the big job of changing my clutch and slave. I realized my axle boot is tore when I took my wheels off again after I put the BG in my trans. I’m just wondering what other trans fluid I can use in place of the synchro shift, because I don’t want to have to order two bottles again for $70, just because I have to drain my fluid again when taking the axle out. I’ve seen a lot of people say good and bad things about motul. I’m not taking that fuckin chance, I’m in cold climates right now since it’s winter here in NY.
Your axle boot is unrelated to a transmission fluid flush and is more about replacing your CV axles. Unless you’re referring to the axle seals, which are located on the differential.
Bro the cv axle slides into the diff holding the trans fluid in
I wouldn’t expect it to lose much, unless there’s something I’m overlooking.
Ok I just know when I took my trans out I pulled my axles out and trans fluid fell on my face. Not fun, but when I drained it still more came out so maybe I’ll just have to top it off like u said.
That’s what I’d assume, shouldn’t require a complete trans flush.
If the car is jacked up evenly, only a minimal amount of fluid should come out. If you just have one side lifted, no fluid should escape.
Alternatively, you can drain it and catch what comes out in a clean container, then reuse the new fluid.
