Rockauto is terrible for these cars

Second time now I’ve ordered parts straight from the turbocharged st section and they were regular, non st parts.

Rockauto says they have rear wheel hubs with bearings installed, they do not. They have se fiesta hubs that support drums, not calipers.

Also ordered spark plugs and coils, got ST spark plugs but SE coilpacks. Too late to return them as I waited until my oil need changed and did it all at once today. So i have some useless SE coilpacks.

Just a warning, if you ordsd from rockauto open and check parts for fitment asap. I think I’m just done with them. They charged me a shipping and restock fee to return the hubs THEY MESSES UP ON.

Ugh, so frustrating.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk

Did they send you the same coil packs you ordered?

As for the rear wheel hubs/bearings, that’s a common issue that’s been discussed a lot on the forums. Ford lists the non-ST rear hubs as compatible with the ST, but you’ll run into the same problem if you order them through a Ford dealer or Ford parts website. It’s good to be aware of that!

So who stocks the correct hubs and bearings? Asking for a friend

That would mean it’s not for SE’s?

Yep I learned this with my Forester XT. Lots of gaskets were incorrectly labeled. Thanks for the heads up on these. I for the most part have just avoided using rock auto when making repairs to mine.

I believe many people and general businesses are confused by the difference between ST and ST line models. They’re not the same at all, and the naming is quite misleading!

This might also explain my situation. I went through two PSMMs that wore out much too quickly.

I experienced the same issue with the hubs. After comparing them to what came off the car, I realized they weren’t the same. They covered the return shipping and even admitted, “Yeah, that’s not the right part,” but it still shows as available on their website. It seems like they got you the same way. You’d think they’d correct that mistake, but oh well.

What’s really frustrating is that you can’t just buy a new hub and bearing assembly – you have to press the bearing in yourself.

It wasn’t RockAuto’s fault in my case, but I bought a Gates timing belt kit from them. It was the correct kit, but it came with the tensioner for the 1.0 Ecoboost :expressionless:. Naturally, I had borrowed tools and was doing the job on a Sunday. Finding the right tensioner was a bit of a challenge. To their credit, RockAuto refunded me for the entire kit, even though I only returned the tensioner.
