Key fob is not working

Hi all,

I just put in a brand new battery into my key fob and now it isn’t working at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Is the battery upside down? Also, is it a good-quality battery? Do you have a way to test the battery to see if it’s still holding a charge properly?

Seconding this—if it worked before, it definitely seems like a battery issue.

Does the battery have plastic on it so the metal is not exposed

Thanks for the replies, guys. My brother got it working—he just removed the small bit of plastic from the battery, and it worked. The weird part is that before, I put a battery in his Focus fob without taking that plastic off, and it worked! Anyway, all good now. Cheers!
