Had it checked over by a pro, stage 2 but not even done the engine mount. What have i got myself into?

Bottom line lets assume the cars basically stock Its definitely stage 2 255bhp but seems like its been cheaped out OR stripped before selling. What do i need? Decat, good cold air intake, map has been done. I know i need engine mount/torque mount whatever you fancy calling it. Braided brake hoses and (personal preference) short shifter is on the way. I don’t want to take this car any higher in power, as of now its keeping it bulletproof. Whats the best route

I’ve been Stage 2 for over two years now and am still using the stock engine mounts, though I do plan on replacing them.

If it pops like an automatic gun, it’s likely due to a decat or a map designed for a decat, meaning you might not have a cat anymore. There’s not much performance difference between a decat and a sports cat (200 cell, etc.), but one is legal and the other isn’t.

I’d also say that a “255” reading is a bit generous.

255bhp doesn’t quite match for a mostly stock FiST. I have a Stage 3 with a stock turbo, and even with perfect weather, the best I’ve seen is around 220-230 bhp. I’m wondering if you might have an aftermarket turbo on yours.

As for your question, check if you still have the stock radiator and intercooler. If you do, I’d recommend upgrading them. I’m running the stock radiator for now, but in the summers here in Atlanta, I’ve had to turn off the AC in traffic to keep the engine from overheating. I haven’t upgraded my radiator yet, but it’s definitely something I’m planning to do soon.

What kind of turbo do you have on it?

Best route to make it bulletproof? Sell it and buy an unmodified car.
