Which one would you guys pick? Both are in good conditions (obviously the MK8 has less mileage).
About 150k km for the MK7 <100k km for the MK8
Help me decide!
Ps. Both are stock

I paid £16k for a 2021 MK8 with 32,000 miles, and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned, though I might be a bit biased.
I’ve had it for six months and had a friend remap it, boosting the power from 200bhp to 244bhp, and it’s been running smoothly after 5,000 miles.
Does it consume more fuel tho?
I average 33mpg, but it really depends on how you drive. I had it tuned for quick overtaking and fast, twisty B roads in the countryside. If I pushed it hard for a few hours, it would obviously consume a lot more fuel.
A friend of mine owned both models in the past, and while the Mk7 is a fantastic car to drive, it feels a bit outdated, especially on the inside. I have a Mk8 ST as my daily, and I absolutely love it. The comfort features are excellent, the LSD in the performance pack is fantastic, and the fuel economy is great (although I did notice a drop of around 6-7 MPG on average after adding a front splitter). There are some known issues with the Mk8, like avoiding the 2018 model due to the wet belt, and the number of menus you have to clear every time you start the car can be annoying—I’m not sure if the Mk7 has this problem. I’d recommend taking it for a test drive to see how you feel. Financially, the Mk7 might be a better choice since it won’t lose value as quickly as the Mk8, but that depends on the market in your area. Personally, I love the Mk8, but I’d make sure to get one with the performance pack, B&O sound system (though you lose the spare wheel), and the upgraded LED lights.
The ST doesn’t have a wet belt in any year, only the 1.0 (which are also reliable if serviced regularly and not driven by a bellend)
It sort of has. The engines in the Mk8 Fiesta STs produced after 03/19 are built similarly to the latest 1.0 Ecoboost engines, featuring a chain drive but using a wet belt for the oil pump.
The “newer” 1.5L engines also have a larger oil capacity, 6.1L, compared to the 4.75L in the engines from the 2018/early 2019 models.
That said, I believe as long as you stick to the scheduled oil changes and use the recommended Ford oil, you should be fine.
If you go the mk8 route try get a performance edition.
I recently bought an Mk8 ST. The Mk7 wasn’t even considered in my decision because I find its interior quite unattractive.
Edit: I got my Mk8 ST with 63,000 km for 15.5k€.
