2026 Ford Fiesta EV Rumored To Launch Riding On New Platform

I’ve heard about this. The new platform is intended to help mitigate Ford Model E’s losses, and it’s a skunkworks project led by a former Tesla engineer named Alan Clarke.

I can’t access the article, but according to Autocar, part of the solution involves using lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries.

It’s worth noting that this Fiesta EV is likely targeted more towards Europe and Asia rather than North America. The articles mention rising competition from Tesla and Chinese EV manufacturers, who are becoming increasingly prominent outside the USA.

The Fiesta and Focus are excellent platforms for EV conversion. I hope Ford moves quickly on that!

Can’t wait for the Fiesta Stevie (ST-EV).

We’re definitely back! My dream garage would include a small EV (my dream car is a Honda Fit Plug-In Hybrid) alongside an ICE roadster.

Edit: Unfortunately, not for North America.

Please don’t be an SUV

Oh boy, I can’t wait for the 19,000 lbs six-row Fiesta EV SUV! Besides the Mustang and F-150, Ford might as well be a dead brand. Even the EV that’s marketed as a Mustang is only competitive in its segment. Other than that, nothing they produce feels special or competitive.
